TRANSPARENT
CANADA
TransParent, a support network for the parents of trans children,
was created in September 2005 as an associate group of the St.
Catharines chapter of PFLAG. The local PFLAG chapter has been
overwhelmingly supportive of the trans community and recognizes that
trans people and their parents sometimes face different challenges
than those in the gay and lesbian community. PFLAG parents have been
great cheerleaders for the formation of this associate network.

T.A.L.K.
[TEAMS OF ADULTS LISTENING TO KIDS]
T.A.L.K. ( Teams Of Adults Listening To Kids )was
formed in response to the following:
Research into high profile
incidents of violence in schools indicate that young people
were aware of the potential threat but did not feel
confident in talking to adults who could have helped. Many,
if not most, youth victims do not report their victimization
to police or other authorities.
Early victimization
of youth correlates significantly with later offending
behaviour and addressing that victimization is an important
step in combating youth violence.

EGALE
CANADA [EQUAL RIGHTS FOR GAYS AND LESBIANS EVERYWHERE]
Egale
Canada is a national organization committed to advancing equality
and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-identified people,
and their families, across Canada. Egale
maintains an active commitment to bringing an intersectional
approach to our work, meaning that we recognize the linkages between
different forms of oppression, including oppression based on race,
sex, class, religion, (dis)ability, age, gender identity, gender
expression, and sexual orientation. Respect for each individual’s
full identity requires that our struggle for equality cannot be
carried out in isolation from the struggle for equality of all
disadvantaged communities.
